🎓Early Academic Pursuits :

Professor Mohamed Attia Shafie began his academic journey at Assiut University, Egypt, where he pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, graduating in 1969. His interest in the field propelled him to further his education at the same institution, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutics in 1972. His research focused on the interactions between plastic containers and certain liquid pharmaceutical preparations, highlighting his early engagement with the critical aspects of pharmaceutical formulation.

In pursuit of deeper knowledge and expertise, Professor Attia Shafie moved to the First Medical Institute in Moscow, USSR, to complete his Ph.D. in 1978. His doctoral research on the formulation of ophthalmic preparations included extensive studies on the physico-chemical properties and pharmacokinetics of an ophthalmic ointment containing sulfapyridine and hydrocortisone acetate. This foundation set the stage for his future contributions to the field of pharmaceutics.

Professor Attia Shafie’s professional career spans several decades, primarily focused on teaching and research in the field of pharmaceutics. He has held numerous esteemed positions at various academic institutions. Currently, he is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University, where he has been teaching since 2011.
